December 22nd

Wow! It's almost Christmas! Michael has finished a wonderful season of football. He's improved so much as a Center and has been working on Middle Linebacker position. His grades in school aren't doing too bad either - A's & B's mostly. Michael was also in our Christmas Cantata at church. This was a first for him and he did a pretty good job.

Bekah has healed up nicely from her accident and we bought her a new car, thanks to Joel. She is now driving a 2001 Acura CL. She's also pretty involved in getting into a college. She's applied at SPU in Seattle and Corban College in Oregon. We're just waiting for acceptance. Bekah has also been in Choral Choir at school and performed in several concerts. Her choir class has really improved her singing voice and she has even sang a solo at church. She continues to be a magnet to small children and currently watches our godson, Logan (he just turned 1) about 2-3 times a week.

Joe is back from Texas and currently looking for a job. He's had a tremendous time of growth in the Lord and leadership. We're not sure what the Lord has in store for him, but he's ready and willing.

Kevin is still working at Safeway, but has transferred to the Bread Plant as their night Foreman. This job has been quite a challenge for Kevin as he's had to integrate with a new team and new procedures, but he is adapting quite well and is now up for a Supervisor role. Please keep him in your prayers as the Lord directs his path in this new year.

I am still working at Providence. Our office moved to Renton this past year and I've been adjusting to the commute. I really enjoy my job and just feel so blessed at being in a position to share my faith openly. I'm fairly involved with several community outreach programs at work and always feel so invigorated at being able to give back.

Have a wonderful Christmas!

Mel

As most of you know, Rebekah was in an accident in August. She rolled her car three times and by the grace of God, her and her friend walked away with a few minor bruises. She is doing much better and even looking forward to getting a new car now. Please continue to keep her in your prayers.

Rebekah and Michael have started school now -- wow, how the summer flies. Rebekah is a senior this year and Michael is in 6th grade, just started Middle School. Joe is still in Texas and doing well -- Thanks again to all who have been supporting him. He really is growing in the Lord and maturing as a young man.

So, I've finally updated the pictures -- not all the old stuff, but all the current stuff.  Enjoy!

May 3rd

Wow, time goes by quickly. Well, Kevin started a new job with Safeway. He is now the Foreman at the Bread Plant in Bellevue. He still works graveyard, but he's now moving his way up the leadership ladder. Rebekah is doing well. She is starting to visit colleges. Michael just got back from 5th grade camp. I'm still working at Providence and loving it. Everyone is healthy. Praise the Lord!

February 14, 2008 - Valentine's Day

Today we celebrated Macy's first birthday. She's such a beautiful little girl. We had a great time driving to Yakima and seeing all the snow. It was wonderful to see Chelsea and Josh. Last week we celebrated Granny's 90th Birthday. Wow, that was super neat. There were so many stories. Joe also had a birthday; he's 19 now. We didn't get to see him, as he is still in Texas going to school, but we did talk to him and sent him a birthday package.

Well, another year has come and gone. It's been full of life -- exciting, frustrating, fun -- and always filled with family. I'm thankful for all the family we have surrounding us. Not too much going on for Christmas. We have more snow than we've seen in years. It's gorgeous. Thank the Lord, I have a job where I can work from home. I do believe we'll have a white Christmas. Michael's currently in wrestling. Doing pretty well. Might even make JV before the season is out. Bekah's taking it pretty quiet. She has a full load at school and has been an enormous help with all my little volunteer projects. Joe came home from Texas for two weeks. What a change. Matt's been over a lot lately too. It's really nice to hear all the discussions between them instead of fighting. Praise be to Him.

July 21, 2008

Well, my 20 yr High School Reunion is this weekend -- can you believe it?

July 14, 2008

Michael's Flag Football banquet was tonight. The boys are growing up so fast. Bekah cut her finger today -- needed stitches, but no, she has to be tough.

July 13, 2008

We just got back from camping in Astoria, OR. We had a great time relaxing.
